Staff at ‘The Harbour Centre’ are here to help.

The Harbour Centre is a Sexual Assault Referral Centre which opened in September 2010 and provides a range of services for people who are victim of rape, attempted rape or assault by penetration.

At The Harbour Centre, we can offer you a place of support; provide practical and emotional support to help you recover. Rape and serious sexual assault can happen to anyone regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion, age, disability or background.

You can access our services either via Police or you can contact us directly.  You can also be referred to our services through another agency as long as they have your consent.

It’s your choice
At The Harbour Centre you will not be pressured into contacting the police. We are here to provide the support you need by discussing all of the options available to you and we will respect whatever decision you make.

Your case and any information you give us, will be treated in strict confidence unless there is considered to be a risk to yourself or others and then we would have a duty of care to pass this information to the relevant authorities.

Police involvement
Should you wish to involve the police we can explain how to do this and support you through this process. You can also choose to pass information about the incident to the police anonymously.

Visit the Frequently Asked Questions section for more answers to your questions.
